Stop the Bleed Training
Severe bleeding can become life-threatening in minutes — often before EMS can arrive. Stop the Bleed training gives your team hands-on skills to act immediately: direct pressure, wound packing, and tourniquet application, practiced on trainers until the steps are automatic.
Stop the Bleed is a national bleeding-control education program. Participation documentation and any card details are confirmed with GoMedTrng when your session is scheduled.

Why it matters
Why bleeding control belongs in your plan
Minutes decide outcomes
Severe bleeding can become life-threatening before EMS can possibly arrive. The response that matters most is the one that starts immediately.
Bystanders go first
The person standing next to the injury is the real first responder. Training turns that person from a witness into help.
These skills need hands
Wound packing and tourniquets are physical skills nobody improvises well. Practicing on trainers is what makes them automatic.
Hands-on
What learners practice
Everyone gets reps on the trainers — this is a doing class, not a watching class.
Direct pressure
Firm, committed pressure done properly — including how much force real control actually takes.
Wound packing
Packing gauze into deep wounds where surface pressure isn't enough, practiced on purpose-built trainers.
Tourniquets
Commercial tourniquet application on arms and legs — placement, tightening, and trusting it once it's on.
- Recognizing life-threatening bleeding quickly
- Direct pressure — done properly, not timidly
- Wound packing practice on realistic trainers
- Commercial tourniquet application on arms and legs
- What belongs in a bleeding control kit, and where kits should live
- Fitting bleeding control into your emergency action plan
The workplace readiness angle
Skills need supplies within reach. If your site has machinery, vehicles, blades, or crowds, bleeding control kits belong alongside your AED — and your emergency action plan should say who grabs what. A readiness review covers both.
Review AED & kit readinessThe most popular add-on
Most teams attach Stop the Bleed to a CPR/AED or First Aid session — one visit, one schedule disruption, a much more complete response capability.

Common questions
Is the training graphic or hard to watch?
No. Skills are practiced on purpose-built trainers and props. The session is professional and appropriate for general audiences — the goal is confidence, not shock value.
How is this different from first aid training?
First aid covers a broad range of injuries and illnesses. Stop the Bleed goes deep on one time-critical skill set: stopping severe bleeding. Many teams do both — first aid for breadth, bleeding control for the minutes that matter most.
Should our workplace have bleeding control kits?
If your site has an AED, saws, vehicles, machinery, or large crowds, kits are worth serious consideration. GoMedTrng's AED & readiness review can look at kit placement and contents alongside your training plan.
Can Stop the Bleed be added to a CPR or first aid class?
Yes — that's the most common way teams schedule it. Adding it to an existing session is efficient and keeps your whole emergency response plan connected.
